Our morning began at the studio where we wrapped up the “wet work” and began the painting process. Now, everything needs time to dry in order to be fired on Friday, to then finish the projects early next week! I finished my carvings and a majority of the painting, so I am ready for the next step. I can’t wait to see the final product, and I hope that everything turns out!
After our time at the studio, we started our trip to the MAXXI museum, which was a lot of fun! This is the topic that I began my Rome content on, and the place that I researched for my course project. If you are interested in learning more about the museum itself, check out my research post!
The MAXXI museum is a contemporary art exhibit designed by Zaha Hadid, that presents a nice change of pace from all of the history that we have been seeing the past few days. But, everything is really beautiful here, so really you can’t go wrong.
Overall, the art in the museum was really interesting and presented a lot of new ideas that I have not really seen portrayed before. I really enjoyed it, and was inspired by some of the pieces that were in there!
I definitely would recommend it if you ever have the chance!
